Account Safety

Do you want someone running around Club Tropica pretending to be you? Hmmm... we thought not! If someone has access to your account then they can delete your profile, pretend to be you, get your account banned, steal all your furniture or do several other things it isn't polite to mention in mixed company. BUT, don't worry! There are several easy steps you can take to keep your account safe!

Choose A Secure Password - It is important to use a password that contains letters (both upper and lower case), numbers and characters like @ and %, this will make your password almost impossible to guess. If you cannot remember a password, write it down on a piece of paper and keep it somewhere safe. NEVER make your password something that can be easily guessed like your first name or your pet's name. You should also use different passwords for all your online accounts, that way if someone manages to gain access to one account then they won't automatically have access to all of them. Finally, only enter your password when you are sure it is safe to do so; when you log into your account, update your details on the Club Tropica site, etc... and read up on Password Scams to keep your account extra safe!

Choose Email Information Wisely - A lot of internet sites allow passwords to be reset via email; if someone has access to your email then they can retrieve your password and access your account. The best email address to use for registration is one from your ISP (Internet Service Provider); BT, Virgin, Orange, etc... these are a lot more secure than other free email addresses. If possible keep this email account secret from other Club Tropica users, if you use MSN or other similar programs then have a separate email address specifically for them.

When you register an account or create a new email address and the site asks for answers to personal questions, these will be used if you ever need to reset your password. It is wise to think about what information you could possibly give out by accident. For example, you could select the personal question "What is the name of your favourite pet" and answer "fluffy" you then have a conversation online with your friend, they say "my dog spot is a naughty scamp, he did so and so" they then say "do you have any pets?"

Choose A Secure Pin - When you create a Club Tropica account you will be asked to provide us with a four digit pin code and a telephone number, when you verify your account you will have to enter this pin and you will also need it if you want to update any of the information on your account or safety ban/un-safety ban your account. You should treat your Club Tropica pin like your bank pin, pick a number only you will remember (not your date of birth, digits from your phone number) and keep that number a secret, don't tell anyone what it is!

Make Sure Your Details Are Updated Regularly - Club Tropica needs to be able to contact you from time to time and this will be difficult if your mobile number/email address has changed. Try to make sure all the information on your account is valid and up to date. The pin/phone service has been put in place to protect your account, Club Tropica will never share your details with another company so take advantage of this added level of security, it keeps your account much safer!
