Introduction to Club Tropica

Club Tropica is a young adult chat site comprising of Home Pages, profiles, instant messenger, voice chat and a 2.5D virtual world. Club Tropica is the first online community to offer social media networking and a virtual world environment in one.

The Club Tropica Island

The Island is the virtual world aspect of Club Tropca. Users can fly (1st Class of course!) to the Island where they can meet friends and other players physically in the form of their avatar. Users can meet daily in the Island Public rooms such as the Disco, Spa, Restaruant, Theatre or by visiting one of the private Villas owned and decorated by the users themselves.

User Profiles (Social Media Networking)

Club Tropica offers Social Media Networking through the use of a personal profile page on the site. Users have the ability to upload their own pictures, imagery and backgrounds as well as having a selection of pre-defined imagery all of which is available from an Online Catalogue.

Users can add profile 'widgets' for best friends, interests, youtube videos, blog entries and much more. Users will also have the ability to dessign their own widgets and add these to their profile when desired.

A new addtion to the profiling system is that users can see how they rated by the amount of views their profile has, this motivates users creativity in order to produce creative profiles.

Community & Users

Staff are appointed to run ongoing activites on site such as events, competitions and quests, however most of the content generated on-site is done by the users themselves through creativty in form of their profiles, forums, groups, in-game Villas and more.

User creativty is the key to Club Tropica as it helps to push past the cultural boundries of our users as they can express themselves how they wish.

Safety (Moderation Policy)

It is important for any online community to take responsibility for the safety of it's users and we are no different. All user input iS Moderated, including pictures and imagery to provide a safe, yet enjoyable environment. Club Tropica employs several types of active Moderation which includes;

- Contracted adult Moderators to patroll both the profile and virtual world envrionments
- A volunteer adult Moderator programme to patrol the virtual world and to assist online users with their questions
- An automated filtering system built into the site into the client.
