Azzle's Top Summer Tips
Week 3
After being in Spain with a heat wave warning with the temperatures hitting 60 degrees, I believe I may have picked up a tip or two to keep cool!
Keeping Cool This Summer
Drink, drink, drink! No, not alcohol but water or even just liquid (not alcohol! And definitely not caffeine). I became dehydrated a couple of times in Spain which wasn't fun, my body felt like it was going to explode and I was in a really stressy mood. Remember, on a hot day, drink lots of water, we were advised to drink 2 litres a day in Spain! I'm pretty sure drinking that much you'll be in the toilet for most of the day!
Wear the right clothes. I personally hate wearing shorts but in such heats, I had to, it helped immensely, I even tried wearing thin trousers (which aren't really comfortable on a beach...), however, the less clothes you have on (don't go running the streets naked, no matter how tempting it is), the less heat will be trapped in your clothes. Remember: clothes are to keep you warm.
Go swimming or to the beach! I visited the Costas when away and found that jumping in the sea was very refreshing and was the fastest way to cool down. If you don’t have a seaside to hand, you can do the same in a private or communal swimming pool, this too helped (even though the pool was 30 Celsius!!)

Water. Well, not just water, any liquids really, try to keep drinking as much water when it's hot so you don't end up dehydrating and fainting because let's be honest, if you fainted in the middle of Tesco whilst buying your bottled water, you wouldn't be a pretty sight would you?
DANCER says "How could I forget this one - a great deodorant. I love the 'DOVE black dress friendly Invisible Dry' that lasts for up to 24hrs - great for all my black dance wear but I also thought it would be good for any of you guys that like to wear dark T Shirts, no one wants to see white powdery underarms do they?"
Thanks for that DANCER, I suggest using Lynx dry for those sweaty days, not only are they a deodorant but they're an anti-perspirant which is a huge bonus!
Great Summer Activities
If you're in Bristol, why not go see the Balloon Festival? I've been a couple of times and it's always a spectacular display of hot air balloons. This is one of the biggest events that Bristol holds each year, so if you're in the area, why not check it out?
Hunk109 recommends going to a theme park as he loves roller coasters. That sounds like a great day out to me, I'll bare that in mind!
DANCER shares a small anecdote about theme parks:
“I can remember a time when I went to a fun fair with my brother and I went on so many rides that I couldn't even walk straight afterwards and when I got home and went to bed the bed felt as though it was tipping!”
